International
Summer School Programme
for Juniors

Educating the heart

Seasons in Greece is a thematic reinvention of the educational concept and approach. We aim to inspire and help our students to develop the knowledge, skills and qualities needed to fulfil their potential in both their personal and professional lives, while enjoying themselves to the fullest.

This will help them become happy, confident and successful individuals in a global, competitive and fast-changing world.

Here at Seasons in Greece, we take pride in helping to shape the lives of our students by instilling confidence in them through experience, excitement and adventure, as well as developing social and life skills in a happy and pleasant environment.

Our Junior Summer Programme is thematic, based on Greek Mythology and there is a good reason for that. One of the hidden benefits of studying Greek myths is to explore virtues. With these classic stories, the lines between righteous and immoral behavior are clear, so that even young children can recognize examples of the 4 cardinal virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance.

Greek Mythology is studied because myths are ways in which cultures attempt to explain the world and answer questions of human concern. For instance, mythology delves into such basic debates as good versus evil or looks into the nature of man.

But Myths are more than mere stories and they serve a more profound purpose in ancient and modern cultures. Myths are sacred tales that explain the world and man’s experience. Myths are as relevant to us today as they were to the ancients. Myths answer timeless questions and serve as a compass to each generation.

Welcome to Greece,
the birthplace of democracy, western philosophy, theatre and the Olympic Games.

Courses

Our aim is not only to provide students with excellent quality English language tuition, but also to develop life skills such as teamwork, leadership, self-confidence, public speaking, which will help students to be successful in the 21st Century.

Students will be given a written test (online) prior to their arrival and will be assigned to one of the group levels ranging from Elementary to Advanced. During the first day at school, they will be further assessed orally and will be re-assigned to a group level if need be. The maximum number of students per class is 12. There is a total of 30 hours of tuition in a two-week course.

Students benefit from a professional, dynamic approach to teaching English with well qualified and experienced staff, using the most up-to-date teaching material and modern didactic methods. Emphasis is placed on increasing fluency, improving pronunciation, developing vocabulary, consolidating grammar and practising listening comprehension.

In addition, a selection of graded readers is made available to each class to encourage vocabulary development.

At the end of the course Certificates of Attendance are awarded but also Progress Reports which provide a more detailed description of students’ strengths and weaknesses.

Welfare & Safeguarding

  • Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. Our Summer School has a Welfare Officer and an emergency number that is manned 24 hours a day. We monitor the whereabouts of all students and ensure full participation in lessons and activities. All our staff are trained in welfare issues, ensuring a high level of care, and many also have first aid qualifications.
  • We take great care to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students, and for this reason we have very robust safeguarding procedures. For example, all of our staff are police-checked and receive training in safeguarding issues.
  • We work closely with Group Leaders to ensure their students are happy and are getting the most from their stay. Our management staff are always available to discuss any issues, and we organise regular meetings between Group Leaders and our Centre Manager, Head Teacher and Activities Manager. We also welcome many students who arrive unaccompanied. These students are placed under the care and supervision of a dedicated Seasons in Greece guardian.
